A little step to darn our environment : An innocuous Diwali for all 👩💼👱🤰👩👩👧👦🐕🐿️
DIWALI , an auspicious festival for Hindus , is celebrated every year in India during early winter to commemorate the returning of Lord Rama to Ayodhya as per Hindu mythology . As a celebration of victory ,this festival is also famous for fire crackers , sweets , get-togethers etc.with much pomp and show . But , this year Honourable Supreme court of India has put a ban on fire crackers and strict law&orders has been issued for a safer Diwali . This ban has its background lies within the serious COVID19 pandemic ,which already has put the world in a funk .
Why this ban ?
1. COVID 19 is known for its horrible attack on our respiratory system as per the case studies and research . The people with already existing respiratory ailments (e.g. asthma ,bronchitis ,rhinitis etc .) are more vulnerable towards this virus infection . On the top of that air pollution may be proven as an emissary to make this situation worst for all .
2. Smog ( smoke+fog) ,one of the much talked environmental hazard ,which makes the air quality knock for a loop . The smog problem is a headache for Delhi and near by areas every year during winter .
According to surveys , 'smog' increases about 30% after Diwali every year , which must be a great concern for all of us .

3. As already more than 50 millions of people are under the grip of corona virus and COVID warriors are fighting every moment to get a reduction at least in daily new cases ,we must think about the situation deeply .
4. In this horrendous pandemic situation , every possible strategy should be tried out to mend the loopholes in every possible way .
5 . Also , we need to think about our fury friends ,the dogs especially ,who get scared of the noise of cracker -bursting and in some case get injured too .
Why some people are not happy ?
1. Diwali is all about lights , crackers and meriments ,as we had made our tradition . And when somehow for some reason the general flow of life is stopped forcibly (may be due to circumstances ) , humans don't appreciate it suddenly .(a natural tendency.)
2. Small businessmen ,who sell crackers and other accessories ,have to bear loss this year . This is concern for rural economy too .
3. But , a group of narrow minds unnecessarily blame the government by raising the religious issues. I personally wonder ,how don't they get the simple logic behind cracker ban . Diwali ,should be a festival of 'diyas' ,and must be innocuous for all ,may it be human or animals .
Why fire-crackers are injurious ??
Firecrackers are little explosive things containing chemicals like Nitrogen dioxide, Sulphur nitrate , Magnesium compounds ,Arsenic and mercuric compounds too . All these chemicals are hazardous for our respiratory system as well as for our environment . Arsenic and mercuric compounds are carcinogenic too . The sound produced by bursting of crackers leads to noise pollution too . On the day after Diwali , the waste materials of crackers , those unburned cracker pieces , and chemicals can be seen in the water bodies, which pose threat to aquatics too .
A way ahead ....
🔊Can't we think a step ahead !!
🔊Can't we make a promise to protect our environ !!!
🔊Can't we be a little more humane towards animals !!
🔊Can't we help people with sickness to get better with safe air !!!
YES ... WE CAN & WE WILL .
LET'S TAKE A PLEDGE THIS DIWALI ,THAT WE MAKE OUR EARTH GREENER AND SAFER . LET' PROMISE OUR MOTHRR EARTH TO HAVE A GREEN DIPAVALI ,SAY NO TO FIRE CRACKERS .
